How Much Does Inpatient Mental Health Care Cost?
The cost of inpatient mental health care varies widely. You may pay $500 to $2,000 or more per day, or up to $50,000 per month.
This does not represent what you will pay for mental health care services at LifeSync Behavioral. The cost you pay is dependent on a number of factors, including:
- The type of care you receive
- The level of services needed while in treatment
- Your health insurance coverage

The cost of mental health care inpatient services depends on a variety of factors, including the specific care provided and the length of your stay. At LifeSync Behavioral, we offer a range of care options to meet most needs. That includes mental health hospital care and alternatives to a hospital psych ward. We also offer independent, private mental health retreats.
Our programs provide mental health care support through licensed support. When you work with us, we provide you with evidence-based care that fits your diagnosed mental health conditions.
What Are Mental Health Hospital Alternatives?
Not everyone needs inpatient, acute care in a mental health hospital. Many people benefit from other solutions, including:
- Mental health care in a residential treatment center: Live onsite for 2 to 4 weeks, sometimes longer, receiving comprehensive care, substance use disorder treatment, and mental health support. Individual and group therapy, holistic care, and experiential therapy may be provided.
- Mental health retreats: A mental health retreat, as we offer, provides you with an opportunity to step into a treatment center for a period of time while working on your mental health care with a licensed therapist. Many mental health retreats offer comprehensive care for several weeks.
- Partial hospitalization program: This type of program allows you to live at home and visit a treatment center 5 to 7 days a week to receive care for 5 or more hours each day. The care is comprehensive, but you will go home each day.
- Intensive outpatient program: IOP is a very effective treatment program for those who may not need as much therapy and treatment as a partial hospitalization program. Create spans 4 to 6 days a week, sometimes less, with care for several hours a day at a time.
Finding the right level of care for you requires understanding what your mental health needs are. Formal assessment and diagnostic screening help your provider better understand your needs. From there, your provider will help you choose the right level of care for your needs.
